Rollers, “smooth surface”
A paper plate
Colors of Acrylic paint of your choice “Basic Craft Paint”
Painter Tape “If you prefer”
Small pack of Foam Brushes as seen in the video, Referred to as dobbers to get corners. I found if you use the cheap dollar SQUARE SPONGE in the Cleaning dept they are easier to work with.

  1. You are a genius!! I followed your instructions and am THRILLED with the results! Thank you so much. I have a little larger area….plus a “bar” area….took me 6 hours start to finish. I did mine with black/dark gray/light gray/ and white. I was a little concerned when I opened the can of the clear polypropalene high gloss…because it was an amber-ish looking color in the can….but….it did go on clear, so all’s well. Rather than using sponges…I crumpled up plastic garbage bags to blot and dap with…..turned out great. Thank you VERY much…..you saved me a TON of money…and it was fun to do!!

  2. I think its great actually that the cutting boards don’t match completely. this way the boards stand out sitting on the counter. Thanks for this video. I can’t wait to try this!

  3. I am a Professional Painter 30 years Solid, and anyone that says this is wrong or thumbs down the video is a Tool!, There are several different ways to do this, and this is one of them, GREAT JOB…

  4. Going to do this to my husband’s counters in his out of the city house. You’re brilliant and awesome work. You made something that coat a fortune into a piece of art that cost under $30 and some would say it looks better than actual granite countertops. As we have them in our home, these look better. ????????

  5. can I do this on press wood? My mother has a dining table made from press wood material and the top is peeling can I do this method and how. Tanks for the comments in advance.

  6. Thank you for a great video – easy to understand, easy to do and very helpful. But can I just say, you have beautiful nails. As a woman who cannot even look hard at mine without chipping or breaking them I admire your ability to do this DIY project and keep them immaculate. 🙂

  7. Hey! I love your video. Can I ask if the counters chipped or flaked off? Just wondering cause I am wanting to give my counters an up date. I was thinking maybe the oil based killz is strong enough to hold to that slick surface. Thanks girl i love your ideas.

  8. I did mine tan ,beige, coffee, and caramel, It looks great, My sister came over wanted me to do hers,I did hers yesterday, I used close to the same colors a bit different because of her cabinets Now her daughter in law wants me to do hers after seeing my sisters, then my older sister saw it and is asking me to do hers. I told them it is easy and they can do it, but they are scared of messing up. I feel good that they like what i did. I gave them your you tube video in case they want to do it themselves.

  9. I am going to do this. I don’t know how many videos I watched before I came across yours. Everything else is way to much and this is exactly what I am looking for. Marble counter tops are amazing. I live in Tx and these countertops add to the value of a home. we just moved in to a new home and have a dinning table I want to redo in this medium. I cannot thank you enough for your tutorial. Now I don’t gotta go out and spend a lot of money on a new table. Thank You!

  10. Could someone who has done this comment on how durable this is please. What if, say your teenage son set a hot pan on it, would it hold up? Thanks!
